Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario County is hosting a new Parenting Skills Workshop Series #108 plus a separate workshop for TEENS.  The instructors for the parenting class will teach the parents five (5) skills that can help them deal with difficult parent-child situations. The skills are: Encouragement, Can Do, Choices, Self-Control, and Respecting Feelings. At the same time, teenage children of those parents, will meet in a separate location with a facilitator for small group instruction. They will learn about the same five (5) skills only the instructor will use methods tailored for the younger minds.  Both parents and teens will be able to practice their skills during the classes and reinforce the new techniques at home. 

The Parenting Skills Workshop Series is designed specifically for parents with children up to age 12. The TEEN Workshop is for youths ages 13-older.  Childcare will be available for young children ages 6 months to age 12 years. 

The workshops are held at:

FLCC Childcare Center, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive, Canandaigua, NY 14424

Directions to the Workshop Site:

The FLCC Childcare Center is is on the FLCC College Campus. From Routes 5 & 20, turn on Lakeshore Drive (across from Lowes Plaza), make a left on Marvin Sands Drive. Child care center is on your left. 

This program is FREE and offered foremost to Ontario County parents. Non-Ontario County resident registrations will be accepted, if space permits. This program is funded through a generous grant from the Ontario County Department of Social Services. 

Class size is limited and registration is requested by October 13, 2023
