Casella Environmental Waste Management Scholarship Available for Ontario County Students

Casella Scholarship

The Ontario County Board of Supervisors and Casella Waste Management are providing college scholarship to encourage Ontario County students to pursue college-level studies and careers in the fields of environmental studies, agriculture, and waste management. 

Eight $2,500 scholarships are provided each year to students who reside in Ontario County, have been accepted into a recognized college level program of study leading to an associate or bachelor's degree, and are US citizens or possess permanent resident visas at the time of their application. Scholarship recipients are chosen for their outstanding academic records, strong references, and a well written essay showing his or her dedication to a career that will support the environment, agriculture industry, or waste management system.

Applications are due by March 29, 2024. 

All materials should be submitted electronically to ontario@cornell.edu

Selected scholarship recipients will be notified of their award by June 15, 2024 and invited to attend an award reception with their family which will be held prior to a Board of Supervisors meeting in July. Scholarships will be paid directly to the recipient's college Bursar office.
