Join us for a hydroponics workshop in collaboration with researchers at Cornell AgriTech in the Controlled Environmental Agriculture department. Through a hands on workshop we will learn the basics of hydroponic growing. From the science behind soil-free systems to setting up your first grow at home or classroom. No prior experience is needed!

By attending this workshop you will participate in a take home activity to get you started growing your own greens and more!

You will achieve:

  • Understanding the basics of hydroponic systems
  • Low maintenance options built for home and classroom use
  • Grow fresh produce independent of season
  • Explore beginner friendly systems for microgreens, fresh herbs and more
  • Take home hydroponic kit

We will cover:

  • Sourcing supplies
    • Where to get growing media, nutrients and tools
  • How to diagnose and reduce pests and disease presence
  • Understand common nutrient issues
  • Controlled environment agriculture principles
  • Science based insights from researchers
  • First harvest projects
  • A working plan of how to get a successful project started
