Much attention has been given to the plight of the honey bee and the popular press has really amped up the sense of urgency around the plight of these pollinators. Perhaps rightly so.
But what about other bees? Approximately 3,600 bee species are native to the United States and Canada and 416 bee species can be found in New York State alone. Join Master Gardener, Jill Scheltz to learn about how and why the attention became so focused on honey bees, how that attention has turned to include the plight of all pollinators and explore some of the amazing, little know bees that haven’t gotten much popular press.
