Raising Rabbits for Meat or Pets

  • Wednesday, March 14, 2018, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

Are you looking for a new farm enterprise or a pet for your family? Raising rabbits does not require expensive equipment and housing and are easy to care for. Rabbits are ideal for those looking to be more food self-sufficient. Rabbits make great 4-H projects for youth. Even adults get into the action showing rabbits at state, regional, and national shows.

Rabbit meat is nutritious with less fat than chicken. Rabbits have great efficiency in converting feed into meat requiring only eight to ten weeks to produce a five pound fryer.

To learn more about raising rabbits, join Russ Welser, Sr. Resource Educator at this workshop.

Russ has been raising and showing rabbits for over 12 years.
