DESCRIPTION:Do you have some maple trees
 in your yard? It doesn’t matter if it’s a Sugar, Norway, Red, Silver or a
 Boxelder maple. They all can be tapped to make sweet golden amber maple syrup.
 Come join Russ Welser, Sr. Resource Educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension
 as he talks about the science behind what makes the sap flow in maple trees ,
 which trees are suitable for tapping, how and when to tap a tree and how best
 to boil sap down when making maple syrup on a small scale. We will also go
 outside and tap a tree or two. Maple syrup can be used for more than just
 putting it on pancakes and waffles. It can be used in baking, making desserts,
 used in meat recipes, creating beverages, salad dressing and more. Making maple
 syrup from start to finish is a wonderful family activity with memories that
