July 5- August 14
We are offering a VIRTUAL LIT/CIT program for our 15-16 year old campers this summer! This 6-week program will be offered completely online, and will be facilitated by Camp Director Jessica "Jitter" Middleton and Wellness Director Andreas "Starbuck" Brooks.
This new online program is designed to retain and develop the hearts and minds of those LIT's and CIT's who will serve as counselors next year and for years to come. The program focuses on many of the core job readiness skills that young adults will benefit from, while they are on staff at camp, and in their career paths later in life. We will provide authentic training to incoming LIT's and CIT's that will prepare them for many aspects of a staff position, while also allowing campers to build relationships with their peers and veteran staff through the social connections afforded through learning groups in these online platforms.
Additionally, participants in this program will be eligible to attend a weekend retreat at Camp this fall if conditions permit us to gather in person. The retreat would be available at a minimal additional cost. While we are not yet able to confirm this opportunity, we are optimistic that CDC Guidelines will allow small gatherings by this Fall.
This new and unique training program will be conducted through use of online conferencing (via Zoom) and will also utilize shared documents available through Google Products. Campers will need internet access in order to participate in this program. LIT's and CIT's will meet Monday and Thursday Nights from 7-8:30pm on Zoom, and will have 1-2 hours of additional course work to complete weekly throughout the program.
Fee: $139/person for the entire 6 weeks of the program.
For more information, contact Jim Hooper.
Attendance: Attendance at each Zoom meeting is strongly encouraged. While there is no pass/fail for the program, we believe that full and complete participation in the Zoom meetings and additional course work is the only way for campers to benefit fully from this experience.
