Late March is an excellent time to prune home fruit trees. The days are getting warmer, the sun is shining more and the severe winter cold is behind us. Fruit trees should ideally be pruned every year to obtain the highest quality fruit.
Russ Welser, Horticultural Educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Ontario will demonstrate pruning procedures for various tree fruit species; apple, plum, pear, peach and cherry that are in the orchard of the NY Kitchen.
Participants should dress for the weather.
